Feroz Dinah is a very accomplished surgeon. I had a complicated situation where a previous partial knee replacement had broken and Mr Dinah did not know what he would find until he opened me up. He considered various options but spent two and a half hours taking out the broken pieces and then gave me a brand new knee. Even a doctor in another speciality said that few surgeons are able to deal competently with revisionary joint replacements. As well as his practical skills, Mr Dinah is a true gentleman. If there were more people like him around, the world would be a better place. He greeted me and my wife politely and gave us plenty of time to ask questions so that we did not feel rushed. He inspires confidence and we felt safe in his hands. We are certainly not looking for future operations and treatment but we hope our paths may cross again sometime in the future. We thank him very much for his skill and care and wish him well.

“I work in Maternity and on Sunday I took part in the NUTS race in Dorking with a number of my colleagues from Epsom Maternity Unit, in order to raise money for our unit. This was a 7K race through mud with around 100 gruelling obstacles to tackle (I have photographic proof opposite). I am very proud to say I finished (...and officially came last!). “The reason I would like to nominate Mr Dinah is that last July he replaced both my knees; I have always been very keen on sport and running but at 50+ was having a number of issues and struggling hard to keep active. I was diagnosed with advanced arthritis in both my knees and referred to Mr Dinah as technically speaking, I was rather young for joint replacements! He undertook surgery last July. I never imagined I would ever be able to do anything like this again and I had the time of my life! I also want to add I was very careful - and although I am hurting all over (as are the rest of the team) the knees held up - with the team’s help! “It got me thinking I never properly thanked Mr Dinah and SWLEOC - so now I am (and I will definitely be doing the event again next year...).”

I went to see Mr Dinah for pain in my left knee and after exrays it looked like I needed a replacement knee. I was booked in and was very nervous as you don’t know what to expect. When I came to Mr Dinah said that I had a partial replacement. I can’t say enough about his bedside manner and after two weeks I am walking well (it’s a bit tight and needs stretching ) but the scar is so neat and tidy you can hardly see it. I am over the moon with my surgery and can’t thank him enough.

Mr Dinah, was courteous, empathetic and professional from our first consultation through to my discharge. He was attentive, explained operation and allayed my concerns. Post operation he paid me regular ward visits.The standards he set were also enforced through the surgical and nursing team. A very caring and professional surgeon.
